Resumen
El presente artículo académico aborda la problemática de cómo el manejo deficiente de la inteligencia emocional en los estudiantes de la Unidad Educativa República del Ecuador puede limitar su éxito académico, así como sus perspectivas profesionales y sus relaciones interpersonales, para ello se planteó como objetivo, el analizar el nivel del desarrollo de la inteligencia emocional en los estudiantes del 1ero BGU paralelo “D” de la Unidad Educativa República del Ecuador. La metodología utilizada en este artículo académico es cuantitativa no experimental con un diseño transversal descriptivo, utilizando como instrumento de investigación el test MSCEIT a una población de 33 estudiantes. Como resultados se obtuvieron que, el 71% de los estudiantes que presenta dificultades para identificar emociones en expresiones faciales reales, mientras que el 70% no ve la importancia y utilidad práctica de las emociones en su vida cotidiana. Además, solo el 23% confía en su capacidad para autorregularse. Se concluye que, para mejorar habilidades prácticas como la percepción emocional, regulación afectiva y bienestar estudiantil, se sugiere incluir programas de fortalecimiento emocional.
This academic article addresses the problem of how the deficient management of emotional intelligence in students at the "República del Ecuador" Educational High School can limit their academic success, professional prospects, and interpersonal relationships. To this end, the study's objective was to analyze the level of emotional intelligence development in the students of the 1st BGU, parallel "D" at the aforementioned institution. The methodology employed in this article is quantitative non-experimental with a descriptive cross-sectional design, using the MSCEIT test as the research instrument on a population of 33 students. The results indicated that 71% of the students exhibit difficulties in identifying emotions in real facial expressions, while 70% do not recognize the practical importance and utility of emotions in their daily lives. Furthermore, only 23% trust their capacity for self-regulation. It is concluded that, to improve practical skills such as emotional perception, affective regulation, and student well-being, the inclusion of emotional strengthening programs is suggested.
