Resumen
El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo establecer el rol que el maestro cumple en la
educación ambiental, tomando en cuenta las acciones de cuidado a la naturaleza que
realiza dentro y fuera del aula, para el fortalecimiento de la sostenibilidad ambiental; la
investigación presenta una fundamentación teórica con varias temáticas como: Desarrollo
sostenible, Pedagogía Sostenible, Educación Ambiental, Rol del docente en la pedagogía
sostenible, la contaminación, acciones gubernamentales y educativas a desarrollar para la
sostenibilidad ambiental. En la ejecución del estudio, se aplicó una metodología basada
en un enfoque investigativo cualitativo y cuantitativo, con nivel de investigación
descriptivo, tipo documental y de campo, así también, se utilizó el método analítico y
sintéticos y técnicas como la encuesta a los estudiantes, padres de familia y docentes,
además de la entrevista a la autoridad académica de la institución; y para su aplicación se
usó el cuestionario como instrumento de recolección de datos. Los resultados obtenidos
fueron procesados para el diagnóstico de la problemática enfocados en dos partes, el
diagnóstico del rol del docente en la educación ambiental y el diagnóstico sobre las
acciones para la sostenibilidad ambiental. Se concluye que el docente es el principal actor
en la formación integral del estudiante, pues, debe encaminar su labor mediante la
introducción de habilidades ambientalistas en cada una de sus áreas creando conciencia
en los educandos y sus familias, sobre el trato amigable con la naturaleza y los recursos
que ella nos provee.

The objective of this work is to establish the role that the teacher fulfills in
environmental education, taking into account the actions of caring for nature that he
carries out inside and outside the classroom, for the strengthening of environmental
sustainability; The research presents a theoretical foundation with several themes such as:
Sustainable Development, Sustainable Pedagogy, Environmental Education, Teacher's
Role in Sustainable Pedagogy, pollution, government and educational actions to develop
for environmental sustainability. In the execution of the study, a methodology based on a
qualitative and quantitative research approach was applied, with a descriptive level of
research, documentary and field type, as well as the analytical and synthetic method and
techniques such as the student survey, parents and teachers, in addition to the interview
with the academic authority of the institution; and for its application, the questionnaire
was used as a data collection instrument. The results obtained were processed for the
diagnosis of the problem focused on two parts, the diagnosis of the teacher's role in
environmental education and the diagnosis of actions for environmental sustainability. It
is concluded that the teacher is the main actor in the integral formation of the student,
therefore, he must direct his work through the introduction of environmental skills in each
of his areas, creating awareness in the students and their families, about the friendly
treatment with nature. and the resources it provides us.
