Resumen
El objetivo de este trabajo era diseñar una propuesta para promover la lectura en la biblioteca de la Universidad de Otavalo, contribuyendo al proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de toda la comunidad académica. La investigación busco abordar el poco interés que los estudiantes muestran ante el hábito de la lectura y los desafíos de las tecnologías digitales. Para lograr este objetivo, se utilizó una metodología mixta que incluyo la aplicación de entrevistas estructuradas al personal bibliotecario de la Universidad de Otavalo y por otro lado, se aplicaron encuestas online a docentes y estudiantes de la misma institución, lo cual permitió que la investigación pueda recolectar datos confiables y a la vez identificar las necesidades de la comunidad universitaria para brindar pasó a diseño de actividades que sean atractivas ante los docentes y estudiantes de la universidad. Los resultados de la investigación demostraron que tanto docentes y estudiantes estarían dispuestos a participar en actividades que promuevan la lectura desde la biblioteca de la Universidad de Otavalo y se integra a las tecnologías digitales. Finalmente, las conclusiones destacaron que el diseño de una propuesta que promueva la lectura podrá transformar a la biblioteca de la Universidad de Otavalo en un centro dinámico que beneficie y despierte el interés del hábito lector de la comunidad universitaria.
The general objective of this work was to design a proposal for the promotion ofreading in the library of the University of Otavalo, contributing to the teaching learning process of the entire academic community. The research sought to address the lack of interest that students show in the habit of reading and the challenges of digital technologies. To achieve this objective, a mixed methodology was used that included the application of structured interviews to the library staff of the University of Otavalo and on the other hand, online surveys were applied to teachers and students of the same institution, which allowed the research to collect reliable data and at the same time identify the needs of the university community to provide the design of activities that are attractive to teachers and students. students at the university. The results of the research showed that both teachers and students would be willing to participate in activities that promote reading from the library of the University of Otavalo and integrate digital technologies. Finally, the conclusions highlighted that the design of a proposal that promotes reading can transform the library of the University of Otavalo into a dynamic center that benefits and awakens the interest of the reading habit of the university community.
