Resumen
El objetivo de este trabajo fue determinar las estrategias didácticas idóneas para que los estudiantes aprendan a manejar adecuadamente los desechos y evitar la contaminación ambiental, para realizar esta investigación se fundamentó teóricamente la clasificación de los residuos sólidos, la educación ambiental y las estrategias didácticas activas. Se obtuvo como resultado del trabajo empírico que las percepciones de los estudiantes sobre la clasificación de residuos sólidos son muy positivas, aunque es necesario un mayor conocimiento sobre tema en los estudiantes y un mayor apoyo logístico por parte de la institución educativa y la comunidad para poder ejecutar tareas de clasificación. También se detectó en la escuela la falta de basureros que se identifiquen con el color correspondiente mediante la Norma Técnica Ecuatoriana (NET), a través del Instituto Ecuatoriano de Normalización (INEN), para que se pueda clasificar la basura y maximizar su reciclaje y reutilización. Las estrategias didácticas activas en Educación Ambiental permitirán alcanzar un correcto manejo de los residuos sólidos los estudiantes de esta Institución Educativa, impulsando al mejoramiento no solo de conocimiento sino de prácticas cotidianas.
Abstract This research was carried out with the main objective of proposing active didactic strategies in environmental education aimed at achieving a correct classification of solid waste in ninth year students of the "Eugenio Espejo" Educational Unit. Theoretical foundations were laid for the classification of solid waste, environmental education and active didactic strategies. Then, the perceptions of the ninth-year students of the Eugenio Espejo Educational Unit on the classification of solid waste were determined using qualitative research. Finally, active didactic strategies in Environmental Education were designed in order to achieve a correct classification of solid waste in the students of the Eugenio Espejo Educational Unit. As a result of the empirical work, the students' perceptions about the classification of solid waste are very positive, although more knowledge about the subject is needed among the students and more logistical support from the educational institution and the community in order to be able to carry out classification tasks. The school also lacks waste bins that are identified with the corresponding colour according to the Ecuadorian Technical Standard (NET), through the Ecuadorian Institute of Standardisation (INEN), so that waste can be sorted and its recycling and reuse maximised. The active didactic strategies in Environmental Education will allow the students of this Educational Institution to achieve a correct management of solid waste, promoting the improvement not only of knowledge but also of daily practices.
