ABSTRACT Early childhood is a crucial period in the life of a human being where the need and dependence of the child on its mother prevails, forming the first attachment bonds, being the first relationship of the newborn with a main caregiver who involves being constant and receptive to signs of the little one in his early years. Furthermore, it is the phase in which the importance and quality of early bonds that ensure the adequate comprehensive development of children stands out. To understand attachment, it is necessary to keep in mind that it is not an isolated relationship, but rather that it is formed from the family component that is strengthened through kinship relationships at a biopsychosocial level between the members. The affective familiarity that is formed from attachment plays a very important role in the cognitive development of the child, since it generates the strengthening of one's own development and allows the acquisition of affective skills necessary for relationships with the environment in conjunction with security in himself and his actions. When a healthy attachment relationship develops, the child's physical and psychological needs are met because it develops a feeling of security and strengthens trust that facilitates exploration of both the physical world and the social context that surrounds it.
