Resumen
La educación superior enfrenta el desafío constante de adaptarse a las demandas cambiantes del mercado laboral y a las expectativas en evolución de los estudiantes. Como señalan Martínez-Garcés y Garcés-Fuenmayor (2020), "las instituciones de educación superior deben reinventarse continuamente para mantenerse relevantes en un mundo en constante cambio" (p. 301). En este contexto, la Universidad de Otavalo ha asumido la tarea de revisar y actualizar su oferta académica, con el objetivo de garantizar que sus programas de grado y posgrado no solo sean pertinentes, sino también atractivos y eficaces en la preparación de los estudiantes para el entorno laboral. El objetivo principal de esta investigación es desarrollar una propuesta integral para la implementación de una oferta académica de grados y posgrados en la Universidad de Otavalo. Este esfuerzo tiene como propósito responder a las demandas del mercado laboral, captar las preferencias de los estudiantes y mejorar la calidad educativa de la institución. Como argumentan Álvarez González et al. (2021), "la alineación entre la oferta académica y las necesidades del mercado laboral es crucial para mejorar la empleabilidad de los graduados y fortalecer la posición competitiva de las instituciones de educación superior" (p. 865).
ABSTRACT Higher education faces the constant challenge of adapting to the changing demands of the labor market and the evolving expectations of students. As Martínez-Garcés and Garcés-Fuenmayor (2020) point out, "higher education institutions must continually reinvent themselves to stay relevant in a constantly changing world" (p. 301). In this context, the University of Otavalo has assumed the task of reviewing and updating its academic offering, with the aim of guaranteeing that its undergraduate and graduate programs are not only relevant, but also attractive and effective in preparing students for the work environment. The main objective of this research is to develop a comprehensive proposal for the implementation of an academic offer of degrees and postgraduate degrees at the University of Otavalo. The purpose of this effort is to respond to the demands of the labor market, capture student preferences and improve the educational quality of the institution. As argued by Álvarez González et al. (2021), "the alignment between academic offerings and labor market needs is crucial to improve the employability of graduates and strengthen the competitive position of higher education institutions" (p. 865).
