This study analyzes the creation of sports clubs in higher education institutions as a strategy to promote student well-being through a documentary analysis of recent literature examining global, regional, and local experiences in this field. The research adopts a qualitative approach with an exploratory level and documentary type, based on a systematic review of 30 documents published between 2019 and 2024, obtained from specialized databases such as Redalyc, Scielo, Scopus, and Dialnet. The analysis was structured into three fundamental categories: impact on mental and emotional health, social integration and sense of belonging, and promotion of healthy habits. Results show that university sports clubs constitute effective multidimensional tools for improving student well-being, demonstrating consistent benefits in reducing stress and anxiety, strengthening emotional resilience, and building meaningful social networks. Cross-cultural evidence demonstrates that these spaces function as catalysts for social integration that transcend academic and cultural barriers, especially benefiting vulnerable student populations. Additionally, sports clubs facilitate sustainable adoption of healthy lifestyles, generating behavioral transformations that extend beyond increased physical activity. The analyzed experiences, including specific cases from Ecuadorian universities such as the University of Otavalo, evidence the need to develop comprehensive institutional models that recognize these spaces as essential components of holistic university education, requiring systematic investment and specialized pedagogical design to maximize their effectiveness in promoting comprehensive student well-being.
