Resumen
Este estudio se propuso desarrollar estrategias de enseñanza efectivas para revitalizar y promover el uso del idioma Kichwa en el sistema educativo ecuatoriano, centrándose en el nivel de bachillerato. A través de un enfoque de investigación mixta que empleó métodos cuantitativos y cualitativos, se exploró la percepción y el uso del Kichwa en una institución educativa de Ecuador. Los resultados revelaron un sólido respaldo a la enseñanza y preservación del Kichwa, reconocido como un elemento crucial de la identidad cultural y la comunicación intercultural. Sin embargo, se identificó una desconexión entre la valoración teórica del Kichwa y su aplicación práctica, tanto en el ámbito escolar como en el hogar. Esta brecha resaltó la necesidad de una metodología pedagógica integral que no solo se concentre en la enseñanza del idioma, sino que también fomente su uso en diversas situaciones cotidianas. Como resultado, se propusieron medidas concretas para integrar el Kichwa de manera más efectiva en el currículo y la vida diaria de la institución educativa, así como para estimular su uso en toda la comunidad. Este proyecto busca preservar la identidad cultural de las comunidades indígenas y fortalecer la competencia lingüística en Kichwa de los estudiantes en un contexto donde el español prevalece, y donde desafíos como la actitud negativa hacia el Kichwa y la falta de políticas públicas coherentes para su promoción deben abordarse de manera integral para alcanzar este objetivo.
This study set out to develop effective teaching strategies to revitalize and promote the use of the Kichwa language in the Ecuadorian educational system, focusing on the high school level. Through a mixed research approach that used quantitative and qualitative methods, the perception and use of Kichwa was explored in an educational institution in Ecuador. The results revealed strong support for the teaching and preservation of Kichwa, recognized as a crucial element of cultural identity and intercultural communication. However, a disconnection was identified between the theoretical assessment of Kichwa and its practical application, both in the school environment and at home. This gap highlighted the need for a comprehensive pedagogical methodology that not only focuses on language teaching but also encourages its use in various everyday situations. As a result, concrete measures were proposed to integrate Kichwa more effectively into the curriculum and daily life of the educational institution, as well as to stimulate its use throughout the community. This project seeks to preserve the cultural identity of indigenous communities and strengthen students' linguistic competence in Kichwa in a context where Spanish prevails, and where challenges such as the negative attitude towards Kichwa and the lack of coherent public policies for its promotion must be addressed. be addressed comprehensively to achieve this goal
