This research proposes the design of a teaching guide based on playful activities as a pedagogical strategy to strengthen logical-mathematical thinking in fifth-grade elementary school students at the Milenio Cochasquí Educational Unit. The identified problem lies in the persistence of traditional methodologies, focused on the mechanical repetition of procedures, which limits meaningful learning and demotivates students. Through an exploratory mixed- methods approach, observation techniques and teacher interviews were applied, revealing a limited implementation of playful resources and a weak connection between teachers and students. Based on these findings, a guide was developed with structured educational games, dynamics, and mathematical challenges appropriate to the children's cognitive level, with the aim of promoting more interactive, creative, and contextualized learning. The proposal seeks not only to improve academic performance but also to contribute to the comprehensive development of students by generating participatory and motivating learning environments. It is concluded that games should not be considered an optional resource, but rather a key tool for the development of essential cognitive skills. It is necessary to train teachers in active methodologies that respond to the demands of the current educational context.
