The objective of this work was the design of a methodological guide that provides teachers with tools and strategies for teaching creative writing in the 10th grade of E.G.B. at the “General Julio Andrade” Educational Unit, where the research addressed the difficulties faced by teachers in the teaching and practice of creative writing, such as the lack of pedagogical and technological resources, and the limited teacher training in this area of knowledge. To achieve this objective, a mixed methodology was used, applying surveys to coordinators and teachers of the area of Language and Literature and the subject of reading encouragement, as well as non-participant observations in the three parallel classes of 10th grade. This made it possible to identify the needs and barriers in the teaching of creative writing and, based on the data collected, to design dynamic and practical activities adapted to the educational context of the institution. The results of the research showed that, although teachers recognize the importance of creative writing and show interest in implementing it, they face some significant limitations in terms of resources and curricular planning. However, they recognize that their students have shown motivation to the activities proposed in class, thus evidencing the potential of using these strategies to improve their written expression and critical thinking. Finally, the conclusions highlighted that the methodological guide designed for the teaching of creative writing at the “General Julio Andrade” Educational Unit, offers teachers key educational tools to enrich the teaching of language and literature, promoting not only meaningful learning in the classroom, but also the development of emotional and social competencies of the students.
