The term culture implies a series of meanings that have been modified throughout history and incorporates different aspects and dimensions of the subject's life such as customs, values, knowledge and ways of thinking that are shared and transmitted by the members of an organization, allowing societies to recreate and differentiate themselves from other social groups (Díaz, 2021). Consequently, culture is understood as the result of individual and collective interrelations, simple and complex, in permanent transformation, it is a vital process that provides information about what is conceived as identity and in it the sense of orientation, the specific way of being, of belonging to a group and of finding the sense of social cohesion. Because culture provides a basis for thinking, acting and feeling, it allows for generating differences between one another, based on personal, physical and cultural characteristics (Ardila, 2018). And it is here that infants, residing within a specific social configuration, depend on a cognitive system influenced by the ontogenetic and ecological context, for the acquisition of specific knowledge and skills (Legare and Harris, 2016). Hence the importance of identifying cultural environments and settings and their relationship with cognitive development.
